Women Onside is excited to invite you to our next coaching webinar, this time with a focus on the youngest end of the participation pathway.
In the second of our coaching series, we present Let Them Play! This is a wonderful opportunity to hear from Matildas legend Joey Peters as she talks to us about her journey from international player to coach and the importance of letting kids be kids.
Joey will cover topics including:
- designing more “hidden” learning in your football sessions
- a child centred coaching approach
- superbilities – inclusion for All Abilities
- other Game Play Learn philosophies
Participants in this live webinar will have the chance to ask questions, respond to comments and discuss ideas for how these coaching philosophies might be adopted by clubs in Australia.

About Joey Peters
Joey is a Matildas legend, having been capped 110 times , she has attend FIFA Women’s World Cups in 1999, 2003, 2007, she was an Olympian at the 2004 Athens Games, she is an Asian Cup finalist , has played in professional leagues all over the world from the USA , to Brazil and Sweden.
Joey was the winner of the Julie Dolan Medal in 02/03 Women’s National League Season and inducted in the FFA Hall of Fame Inducted in 2010.
Joey is a mum, also an SBS Football analyst, and after retiring from Playing Professional Football in 2009, Joey has continued her passion for Football in the Coaching space with experience in Grassroots to Professional Learning Environments attaining C, B and A Advanced Coaching Licences through Asia (AFC) and Australian (FFA) Football Federations. Joey as now developed her own Coaching Methodology GAME PLAY LEARN which ‘Hides Learning In FUN’ and provides dynamic, motivating learning environments aimed at inspiring and nurturing players.
