Dear friends,
I’m Heather Reid AM – a director of Women Onside. I’ve spent my career as a sports administrator dedicated to women’s football, and I’m proud to now serve on the board of this impactful organisation.
Women Onside was founded to advocate for women in football everywhere. Following the success of a coalition of dedicated advocates in securing gender equality reform at Football Australia, the decision was made to formally establish Women Onside in 2019.
Ever since then we have been working to support the growth of the women’s game and the advancement of women in football, through our policy advocacy, networks, mentoring program, training courses and flagship Women in Football Leadership conference.
This week we take a big step forward. Women Onside has always been volunteer-led, but thanks to donor support, we are now hiring for our first-ever staff leadership role: an Impact Manager, to take our work to the next level. It is an exciting moment in the history of the organisation, which the board is confident will allow us to maximise our impact at this critical moment for the women’s game.
But we can’t grow that impact without your help. That’s why I write to ask two things:
