Onside Mentoring provides a facilitated approach to mentoring for game-changing female leaders aiming to make a difference in football. Over the next few months, we will profile our 2022 mentees and their mentors - this month; we will meet Vicki and Anne
Vicki is a former elite coach with a master’s degree, having worked at the national league, national team and international development levels. She recently transitioned to a senior management position at a State Government level working with various sports on implementing high-performance policies and programs.
With a new direction in her career, Vicki aims to improve her skillset at a senior governance level and understand the requirements to succeed in her new role while increasing her knowledge and networks within the national high-performance sport system. Her strengths include passion and drive, a love of learning and the ability to make hard decisions.
Vicki was looking for a patient, enthusiastic mentor with experience in the high-performance management environment and someone with experience in coaching. Her mentor, Anne, is an excellent match because she has lived experience as an athlete and coach in several sports and has held full-time senior executive positions for national and international associations and government agencies for a long time.
Anne’s background and familiarity with being a successful mentor, combined with her knowledge, expertise and observations gained from involvement with various sports, are invaluable qualities to help Vicki achieve her goals.
